What’s a water ionizer EHM-929?

A water ionizer or alkaline ionizer is an electronic unit that increases the pH of water to make it more alkaline.

In doing so, it also makes the Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) of the water more negative. Water with lower values of ORP is said to be better for us, as it prevents the harmful process of oxidation from happening in our bodies. The best alkaline water machines give the lowest ORP values.

Oxidation is bad for us, as it can damage things like body tissue, proteins, and DNA.

In the same way that we are encouraged to eat antioxidant foods, antioxidant water is said by many to be healthier for us. It essentially fights the harmful oxidation process. We’ll discuss ORP more in the ‘Buyer’s Guide’ section, a bit further down the page.

Water ionizer EHM-929 lower the ORP and make water more alkaline using a process called electrolysis. This technique splits the water into its acidic and alkaline components.
